Bill's fiddling is featured in the soundtrack of the independant film, "Iditerod..A Far Distant Place".
After learning that Iditerod musher Mike Williams listens to tape recordings of Gwich’in fiddler Bill Stevens on the trail, film producer Alice Dungan Bouvrie included Stevens in the soundtrack. Mike Williams, a Yup'ik Eskimo and the "Sobriety Musher" uses the race as a platform to increase awareness of alcohol abuse, while still trying to run a competitive race. His life affirming efforts in the wake of so many personal losses bring dignity and inspiration to his race.
