WALK TO WASHINGTON, D.C.
for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
An Initiative of the Caribou Commons Project

STARTING POINTS OF THE WALK TO WASHINGTON, DC

Our journey from the west coast is scheduled to leave Seattle on August 23rd, and travel through Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

No single journey across the US will be able to visit every region that should be visited, so parallel journeys are planned to begin in the northeast and southern states.

All the parallel journeys of the Walk will converge on Washington, DC November 16th, 2002.

The following routes and dates have been established for the Walk to Washington, D.C.'s primary and parallel journeys:

Cross-Continental Route, Starting in Seattle, WA, 8/23 (ken Madsen)
Northeast Route, Starting in Saratoga Springs, NY, 9/14 (Tim Leach)
Southeast Route, Starting in Kansas City, MO, 10/20 (n/a)

For updates on current and developing routes, please revisit the official Caribou Commons walk site.
