Alexandra Honigsberg

Alexandra's New York City club debut at the Bitter End with the British band Qwango was hailed by fellow vocalist and fiddler Suzi, of Buster Poindexter's Banshees of Blue fame, as "Terrific!"

You can hear her fiddling and singing on both the DQYDJPlayers albums, TKB and Blues Spoken Here, both of which also have several of her songwriting contributions.

Having cut her string player's teeth in classical conservatories and major concert halls around the U.S. and Canada, Alexandra soon branched out into rock, jazz, blues, latin, and country and has played both Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall.

In addition to being an arranger and songwriter, her poetry and fiction have graced the pages of major anthologies and magazines around the world in many languages and her scholarly writings span the centuries.

Alexandra plays a vintage matching pair of white Barcus-Berry Violectras, violin and viola, circa 1980.

"I'm playing a matching pair of vintage ('70s), white Barcus Berry acoustic-electric instruments (violin and viola) and putting them through some basic FX pedals (Boss Stereo Chorus, Digitech Digital Delay, and the acoustic SansAmp), and either going directly into the board or using my Vox Pathfinder amp or a Fender Deluxe Reverb ('60s) via monster jazz cables, playing on D'Addario's Helicore strings."
