Mimi Pearce

"I am currently in my final year of a B.A. in jazz studies at Leeds College of Music, where I am taught by Omar Puente.

Before I came to this college, much of my playing was in string quartets and youth orchestras, but aged eighteen, I had a sudden rush of blood to the head and decided to pursue another avenue of music altogether. Now I am playing the part of Ray Nance with a Duke Ellington Repetory Orchesra, and I am in a Latin big band and an Indian fusion band.

I also have my own jazz quartet, and I have just joined a band with a bit of a Dave Matthews vibe going on.

Equipment: "I use both an electric violin, a Yamaha Silent Violin, (though I hate it and I am saving up to by a Zeta five string) and an accoustic violin sith a fishman pick up. "
